iPhone 9 To Feature OLED Screens In Two Sizes
A report from The Bell has been circulating rumors for iPhone 9. According to the report, which centered on Apple and Samsung supply chain deals for iPhone 2018, Apple has agreed to a deal with Samsung to supply OLED panels for the iPhone 9. The report claims that the phone will include a larger 5.28-inch and 6.46-inch OLED display iPhone 8, we expect a radical new form factor made of stainless steel and glass, with a design that focuses on a 5.8-inch OLED display that is close to the front bezel.
Apple currently sells 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens on its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphone devices respectively. Later this year, the company is expected to launch a new iPhone in three sizes: the two iPhone 7s models will store 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen sizes, while the iPhone 8 will include a 5.8-inch screen. It seems logical that Apple will continue to use OLED in generations after that too, although the suggestion of an entirely new screen size is staggering. The report says that the iPhone 9 is expected to be present in two OLED models – screen sizes of 5.28 and 6.46 inches. Samsung’s OLED shipments are also likely to more than double by 180 million units.
The two companies recently signed a non-disclosure agreement on common conditions, including screen size, “an industry source was quoted as saying in the report. The very specific claims of the 5.28-inch and 6.46-inch screen dimensions are very interesting, if true, Apple will introduce another change to the iPhone form factor in 2018. Compare that scenario with the iPhone 7, which uses the same general chassis design. such as iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s.
New rumors for iPhone 2018 devices show a screen that will be slightly smaller than the current iPhone Plus model look, and then a larger selection that will represent Apple’s biggest smartphone display to date. Although the report does not confirm the full size of the iPhone 9 model, the screen dimension suggests Apple may return to a pair of devices similar to the current generation iPhone but with a full front view and very reduced bezels.
Bell’s report today did not mention any other rumors related to the iPhone 9, except that Samsung will be a supplier of OLED displays and will produce more than 180 million units for Apple. The report states that details such as “design and display functionality” may be customized on the phone, given how far the iPhone 9 comes from the launch date. We will definitely take a report on the 2018 iPhone with a lot of skepticism at the moment, but note that early reports about next-generation phones will turn out to be accurate in the past.
