The Apple launched today, during the first day of its annual conference of developers, the updating of its operating system for iPhone 7 and iPad and excited with the presentation of its new iPad Pro and iMac Pro, in addition to the original loudspeaker HomePod.
The iOS 11, which will arrive in the coming months, will allow recovering all the old conversations with imessages when a new device is used. Also, it will bring as a novelty the use of Apple Pay, which makes possible the sending of money between users and that will be integrated into imessages, a contribution that was received with great applause by the more than 5,000 attendees to the presentation.
This update, you will have new options for photo and video, you’ll have great changes in your design and will improve the image processing, as the photographs can be compressed more without affecting their quality, according to the demonstration by Craig Federighi, vice president of software of the company.
Also, Apple, which revealed updates for watchOS, TvOS, and MacOS, introduced the AR Kit technology, which allows developers to build applications with augmented reality.
Tim Cook, CEO of the company, was the host of the event, held for the first time in almost 15 years at the McEnery Convention Center, San Jose (southeast of San Francisco), instead of the traditional Moscone West Convention Center, San Francisco.
“It’s great to be back here in the heart of Silicon Valley next to the new campus,” Cook said at the start of the event when he promised that the conference would be “the best and biggest” held by the company in its history.
Despite the nature of the event, which lasts until Friday and is intended for programmers, it was eagerly awaited the presentation of new products, and there Apple also did not disappoint.
The main announcement was the new iPad Pro tablet, with a 10.5-inch screen, an intermediate size between the two previous versions, 9.7 and 12.9 inches. The new device, which weighs 454 grams and has a 10-hour battery, will have a 10x processor that makes the graphics performance a 40 for faster. Its price in the market, where it will arrive next week, is $649.
The iPad Pro will have the iPhone 7 camera and a screen with more color palette and brightness, able to handle HDR video. Also, it has the promotion function, which will allow updating the contents 120 times per second.
Also featured is the iMac Pro, your Mac “more powerful” to date, with 8-core Xeon processor (can reach 18 cores), Retina display 5 K and 1 TB storage (can reach up to 4 TB), which will be available from December at a price of $4,999 for its most basic model.
Among the many innovations that iOS 11 brings to iOS devices, there is also a small but potentially useful change in the management of screen captures. The function itself remains natively supported by iOS and works as before, i.e. holding down the home button and the on/off side simultaneously. The function is also one of those provided by Assistive touch, in the case.
At the time of screen capture the iPad or iPhone display will “light up” for a while, and it is from here on that the operation in iOS 11 varies from what we are accustomed to. As a rule, the displayed snapshot would be automatically saved in the photo System app library, but in iOS 11 a thumbnail of the image remains in the lower left corner of the display.
